FLOREAT community theatre group Playlovers share the story of three sisters in The Memory of Water.

Shelagh Stephenson’s British play is directed by Alida Chaney and stars Subiaco’s Jennifer McGrath as one of the sisters, Catherine, who meet on the eve of their mother's funeral.

As they attempt to organise the funeral, the secrets of their separate lives are revealed.

“Each sister has their own memory of their time with their mother,” McGrath said. “Each memory differs.

“And I think through all their recounts you get a real picture of who this woman was; it’s a story about the bond of family.”

McGrath returns to Perth following working on stage productions in London and Dublin.

She has also had a role as a courtesan in television show, The Tudors.

The Memory of Water is at Hacket Hall, Floreat, July 15 to 30. Tickets www.playlovers.org.au.

Three sisters Michelle Varley (Mary), Jennifer McGrath (Catherine) and Anastatia Ward (Teresa).
