A PAIR of thieves broke a door in half to get into Zaraffa’s coffee shop on Stirling Highway about 3am on July 1. Sergeant Carol Vernon said it would be alleged the thieves searched the shop’s drawers and cupboards and damaged a safe before taking some cash. The shop had CCTV and after inquiries, Fremantle detectives charged a South Lake man (23) and a Bayswater woman (27) with burglary and stealing. Both will appear in court at a later date.

DINNER partygoers were the target of thieves after they used a laundry door to enter a Lowanna Street home. Sergeant Carol Vernon said the thieves also searched the home’s study and a bedroom when they entered between 8pm and 11.30pm on July 2. The thieves took the homeowner’s bag he used for his job in an office.
A BLUE and yellow Yamaha motorcycle at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital was one of two taken in the past week. Senior Sergeant Paul Gelmi said the 2015 model machine was taken from the hospital’s grounds between 5pm and 10pm on July 1. The previous night, a 2010 model Yamaha with the same colours was taken from a Herdsman Parade, Wembley home. Sgt Gelmi said the motorbikes were different models and any connection between the thefts was being investigated.
4 WEST LEEDERVILLE
A WEST Leederville man (33) allegedly stole tools from a garage at a Brighton Street, West Leederville home during a 10-day spate of thefts until last Wednesday. “They were generally daytime offences when garages and storage sheds were targeted, and mainly tools taken,” Sgt Paul Gelmi said. The man was charged with stealing, before he was bailed to reappear at Perth Magistrates Court on July 15.
BICYCLE thieves took a $6000 bike and bicycle parts from Wembley Cycles between 3am and 3.30am on July 6. Sgt Paul Gelmi said the thieves appeared to have dumped the bike. The bike was found around the corner from the shop the following morning.
