A NEW crop of businesses coming to Subiaco is proof of growing confidence in the area, according to Subiaco Mayor Heather Henderson and chief executive Don Burnett.

WA’s first cat cafe, Mister Gill’s Fish and Chip Bar and Voyeur nightclub will all open their doors in the next few months, with a number of other small bars and eateries coming soon.

Mrs Henderson said collaboration between the council and the business community was essential for the long-term success of Subiaco.

“What we need is a lot of positivity in this space. We’re going through a period of transition and the landscape is adapting to become an attractive hot spot for locals, workers, shoppers and visitors,” she said.

“Growing involvement from the business sector is going to help shape the town and bring the vibe back to Subiaco.”

There are other significant developments under construction, including the Subi XO precinct.
