THEFT VAN TORCHED

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

A VAN stolen from Canning Vale transported three thieves to the robbery of Mosman Park IGA supermarket before the vehicle was set alight nearby. “They smashed the supermarket’s front door and got cash and floats, and those sorts of things,” Sergeant Carol Vernon said. The Fast Track delivery van was taken from Coles Express service station in Canning Vale after 11am on July 3 before the supermarket was raided several hours later. The van was set alight and destroyed despite firefighters’ attempts before dawn on a vacant block at the corner of Palmerston and McCabe streets, Mosman Park, about 500m from the supermarket. A burglar was described as slim, with dark trousers and a jumper, with a white cloth over his head. His accomplices were both slim, and while one wore dark Nike trousers with a white bandanna across his face, the other wore grey pants, a grey hooded jacket, black cap and black running shoes.
