We’re leading the way
THE Western Suburbs Weekly is in the running to be judged best community newspaper in Australia for an unprecedented fourth straight year.
The paper was last week named a finalist in the 2015 Community Newspapers of Australia (southern division) award for Best Newspaper (30,00050,000 copies).
That’s the same award the highly decorated publication collected in 2012, 2013 and 2014, with the paper also going on to claim the national prize in each of those years.
Fellow Community Newspaper Group publication Mandurah Coastal Times is a finalist in the same category, while sister paper Guardian Express is a finalist in the under 30,000 copies category.
Long-serving Western Suburbs Weekly photographer Andrew Ritchie is in with a triple-shot at CNA glory after snaring three nominations.
Southern suburbs colleague Jon Hewson also has three images in the awards mix.
