Upgrade for Rotto units

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

FIFTEEN ocean view units at North Thomson Bay on Rottnest Island are being upgraded.

Two more units at Bathurst are also being upgraded, and the roofs on 104 units at Kingstown, Governors Circle, Bathurst and North Thomson Bay have been replaced.

There will be 100 new barbecues at units in Geordie, Longreach and Fays bays while others will get new curtains, floors and fresh paint.

More domestic visitors fill the accommodation compared to other West Australian tourist places like Monkey Mia and Shark Bay, according to new Rottnest Island Visitor Centre manager Adam Morris.

Mr Morris has come from a similar role in Shark Bay and was in Monkey Mia before that.

He said the Island was similar to Shark Bay because they were both world heritage areas and their attractions included animals like the quokkas and dolphins.
