Group rides to youth res­cue

WEST Leed­erville com­mu­nity char­ity Dis­man­tle will use a West­pac Foun­da­tion grant to men­tor at-risk youths by show­ing them how to re­cy­cle bi­cy­cles.

Dis­man­tle chief ex­ec­u­tive Pat Ryan said the grant would be used for the Bike Res­cue hol­i­day pro­gram for at-risk youth in Geraldton.

A West­pac spokesman said the foun­da­tion pro­vided grants to 16 non-profit groups cre­at­ing bet­ter com­mu­ni­ties and brighter fu­tures for those at-risk in WA this year.

In the western sub­urbs, Su­bi­aco’s ARTrin­sic re­ceived $10,000, $4990 was given to the Ear­bus Foun­da­tion and $10,000 to the Fu­ture Liv­ing Trust, both in Wem­b­ley.
