STUDENTS at Nedlands Primary School have planted seeds as part of Schools Tree Day.

Students aged nine and 10 planted more than 1000 native seedlings on the foreshore at Point Resolution Reserve in Dalkeith last week.

City of Nedlands Mayor Max Hipkins said the students had given the foreshore a rejuvenation boost.

“The partnership between the City and local schools is strong and integral for assisting the City in rejuvenating local bushland,” he said.

“Each year the local schools assist the city’s environmental conservation team to plant native seedlings at difference areas across the city. The exercise teaches children about the importance of protecting and regenerating our natural bushland.”
