Western Suburbs Weekly - - Streetwatch -

SINCE the Cottesloe police station recently joined the central metropolitan police district we have noticed a decrease in the times it takes to respond to calls for police assistance. This was most noticeable when Cottesloe officers, members of the Regional Operations Group and canine police responded to a burglary in Cottesloe last week. We have also been able to use these officers in our crackdown on recent crime in Mosman Park. There has been an immediate reduction in crimes in the area, and my officers now feel energised to tackle the district's issues. However, the public has its role to play, including locking windows and doors, which are mostly criminals' entrances to cars and homes and keeping valuables in cars out of sight. - Senior Sergeant Tony Booker
