DON’T LEAVE (CAR) DOOR OPEN TO THEFT

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Streetwatch -

Police are working extremely hard on reducing the number of stealing from motor vehicle offences, but unfortunately vehicles parked anywhere at any time can be targeted, which makes apprehending those responsible quite challenging. Remove all items of value, while ensuring doors are locked when the vehicle is unattended, as reports indicate handbags, laptops, wallets and mobile phones are still being left in vehicles in plain sight, very tempting for would-be thieves. If you are unfortunate enough to have your vehicle broken in to, make sure you report it to police on 131 444 ASAP, as this ensures appropriate actions are taken in an attempt to catch those responsible. - Senior Sergeant Peter Arancini
