Sus­pects in theft of V8 car still sought

PO­LICE are still seek­ing to solve the theft of a Holden Club Sports V8 by men armed with a wooden stake on Re­serve Street, Clare­mont about mid­night on Fri­day, July 8.

De­tec­tive Se­nior Con­sta­ble John Mackey said a man was sit­ting in the car when he was ap­proached by two oth­ers who threat­ened him and hit him on the arm with the stake, be­fore forc­ing him to hand over the car keys.

The thieves are be­lieved to have walked around Clare­mont ear­lier that evening.

One was de­scribed as tanned, 25-30, 170-180cm, medium build, and wore a black hooded jumper with a black hand­ker­chief over his nose and mouth. His ac­com­plice was 185-190cm, aged 35-40, thin, and wore a grey hooded jumper with a black hand­ker­chief over his mouth and nose.

The ve­hi­cle was found aban­doned in Dou­ble­view sev­eral days later.
