‘Telstra’ duo looked good

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

A COUPLE posing as Telstra workers described as “good looking” may have checked a Forrest Street, Peppermint Grove home was empty before a burglary about 2pm on August 4.

“From a description, we think they came and knocked on the door the day before, when the owner’s adult children happened to be there and answered the door,” Sergeant Darren Gates said.

Sgt Gates said Telstra workers had been in the street at the time but a day later, a neighbour saw a man at the side of the house who said he was a Telstra worker.

The neighbour called the owner’s adult children when a woman wearing a high-visibility vest left the rear of the house, saying she wanted to use the toilet, and a subsequent search discovered a box of glass beakers was missing.

The Caucasian woman was described as in her early 20s, about 160cm, slim, long blonde hair with dark roots, wearing a flouro-coloured top with matching nail polish. Her male Caucasian accomplice was in his late 20s, about 180cm, slim but well built, with brown, short hair.
