SHENTON College students and staff raised more than $5000 for charity by taking part in the City to Surf last month.

Seventy students and 10 staff took part in the fun run to raise money for Uni Camp for Kids to send underprivileged kids on a three-week camp.

Shenton College raised enough money to send 20 children on the camp through their fundraising efforts.

Year 9 Head of Learning and Community Gary Green said the students chose to donate to Uni Camp for Kids because they could identify with the age group.

“Our students come from a privileged area, so they wanted to help people of their own age, who were not as privileged,” he said

“Uni Camp for Kids is a great charity that offers something fun for children who are emotionally, socially, and financially underprivileged.”
