Man faces drug, theft charges
CASH, thought to be counterfeit, was found with a man suspected of stealing a car from the Perth Royal Show in Claremont about 4.50pm last Wednesday.
“A woman at the show reported her car keys had been stolen, so we sent out a patrol,” Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said.
Police say that a man unknown to the woman was sitting with the keys in the car, which had false number plates, on Second Avenue, Claremont.
“It will be alleged a search of the car also located cannabis and counterfeit Australian currency of one $100 note and a $50 note,” Sgt Booker said.
The man, of no fixed address, was charged with car theft, possession of counterfeit money and cannabis, breach of bail and giving false name, before he was refused bail and remanded to appear in court at a later date.
