Western Suburbs Weekly - - News - By LISA THOMAS

A SUBIACO man is offering a $3000 reward to be reunited with his cat, which went missing a year ago in Shenton Park.

Greg O’Brien visits the Cat Haven, local vets and door knocks every week in the hope that somebody has found his cat, Honeycomb.

The nine-year-old black and white domestic shorthair went missing in November last year.

Mr O’Brien said despite it being a year since his cat went missing, he did not want to give up and needed to find out what had happened to his best friend.

“I can’t explain how much she means to me and the hardest thing is not knowing where she is,” he said.

“There must be someone looking after her; she’s a beautiful and timid cat and would have been found hiding somewhere.”

Mr O’Brien said he had decided to offer a reward and take the money from his superannuation to help pay a reward to find Honeycomb.

“I just want her to come home,” he said. “I’ve had her since she was a kitten and she means everything to me.”

Cat Haven surrender consultant Jarnah Hordacre said every week Mr O’Brien visited the Cat Haven hoping for news on Honeycomb.

“It breaks my heart to see him come in every week looking for her and to see how much he misses her,” she said. “We’re hoping someone will have some information that can help him find out what happened to Honeycomb or where she might be.

“Honeycomb is microchipped and is black, with a white chest and neck, and with white markings on her nose and feet.”

If anyone has any information on Honeycomb contact Greg O’Brien on 0413 701 489 or the Cat Haven 9442 3600.
