“A lot of it was vehicles which had been left unlocked,” Sergeant Paul Gelmi said.

Since September 30, Sgt Gelmi’s Cottesloe station has recorded at least 25 thefts in the two suburbs.

Clusters of the crimes were reported on streets centred about Wellington and Palmerston streets in Mosman Park, the Salvado StreetAvonmore Terrace precinct in Cottesloe, and Eric Street farther north in Cottesloe.

There were other isolated thefts in streets between the clusters.
