IT’S been a year since the Western Suburbs Weekly moved in to Claremont.
Sales and editorial staff at the Community Newspaper Group publication moved to the refurbished office at 1 Leura Avenue, Claremont to take advantage of the high foot traffic in the area.
The new location has helped the team forge even stronger relationships with the western suburbs community.
Editor Denise Cahill said readers and clients often dropped in as they walked past to grab the paper and chat to staff.
“People stop by to say hello or talk about a story idea rather than calling or emailing,” she said. “A lot of people still like the face-to-face interaction and it’s even easier in this location.”
The Western Suburbs Weekly has had another successful year, winning the Community Newspapers of Australia Best Newspaper Southern Division for the fifth consecutive year.
Judges said the Western Suburbs Weekly was a “refreshing paper” and were particularly impressed by the Scene Out section and local editorial content.
