SUBIACO Floreat and ClaremontNedlands started the Premier Cricket season with back-to-back wins over the weekend to both sit in the top three.

The Lions looked to be cruising against Bayswater-Morley at Floreat Park Oval on Sunday at 2-94 before a middle-order collapse led to a stunning finish, with the hosts getting home by one wicket.

Cam Green finished 16 not out and hit the winning runs, as the 18-yearold WA rookie steered his side to a famous victory.

Subiaco Floreat had smashed Scarborough by 10 wickets in Saturday’s fixture, led by Calum How (72no) and Alex Malcolm (56no).

Claremont-Nedlands followed suit over the weekend with strong wins over title contenders Melville and Rockingham-Mandurah.

Tim David was the hero on Saturday taking 4-14, while Chris Brabazon’s 62 was enough to get the Tigers a win against the Mariners on Sunday.

University started their season in difficult fashion going down to Midland-Guildford and Scarborough.
