THE annual PLC Open Garden Day will have a focus on sustainability this year while showcasing new homes and gardens in Peppermint Grove.

On Friday, October 28, seven homes will be open to the public with this year’s theme of “Soils, Sustenance and Serenity”.

Open Garden Day co-ordinator Davina Gossage said the day was a unique opportunity to see some of Perth’s most private properties.

“With a little twist or two along the way, these homes will capture the imagination of both the young and those with more wisdom,” she said.

“Gardens encapsulate the theme of soil, sustenance and serenity, often with the old becoming new in unique ways.”

There will be a Garden Day market on View Street, a Garden Cafe, musical interludes from PLC’s various groups and a well-known guest star.

All gardens are in walking distance of the school and a free bus service will be available to shuttle visitors between the properties and from the parking area at Manners Hill Park.
