NED­LANDS res­i­dents have been hon­oured for their com­mu­nity ser­vice by be­ing appointment Free­man of the City of Ned­lands.

Ruth Reid, Mary McCall and Sue Morey have com­mit­ted them­selves to com­mu­nity ser­vice in vol­un­teer­ing, li­brary ser­vices and res­pi­ra­tory medicine nurs­ing.

Mayor Max Hip­kins said be­ing named Freemen of the City was the high­est hon­our the City could give to a com­mu­nity mem­ber.

“The awards to Ruth, Mary and Sue as Freemen of the City is recog­ni­tion by the Coun­cil of their long­stand­ing ser­vice to the com­mu­nity, who have all played a sig­nif­i­cant role in the civic af­fairs of the City and the State of WA,” he said.

Ms Reid was hon­oured for more than 20 years of com­mu­nity ser­vice as a vol­un­teer to many not-for-profit groups and Ms McCall for her ded­i­ca­tion to the State li­brary.

Ms Morey was named for her work as a nurse prac­ti­tioner in res­pi­ra­tory medicine at Sir Charles Gaird­ner Hospi­tal.
