PO­LICE are seek­ing as­sis­tance from the pub­lic re­gard­ing the use of a stolen credit card in Clare­mont. Just af­ter 11am on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 29, a woman used a stolen credit card at a gro­cery store in Beech­boro to pur­chase items. In the space of a few hours, the card was used 14 times in Clare­mont, Kiara and Beech­boro. Some of the items pur­chased were fast food, gro­ceries and on an on­line gam­bling site. The woman is de­scribed as having dark skin, medium build, dark hair and be­ing 25-35 years old. She was wear­ing a black Adi­das jumper, black pants and car­ry­ing a bright blue wal­let. A hand­bag and its con­tents were stolen from a Clare­mont home while the oc­cu­pant was home. Be­tween 8.45am and noon on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 17, a woman in her Loch Street home heard a noise while vac­u­um­ing. She in­ves­ti­gated and found her hand­bag had been taken from the kitchen. Credit cards in the bag were also stolen and later used for sev­eral trans­ac­tions. Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tinue.
