Beach run summer fun for a great cause

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Drive Way -

ENTRIES for the sixth annual Sunshine Beach Run in February to raise money for Red Nose are open.

The event on Sunday, February 19 at City Beach includes a 1km, 3km and 5km walk and run.

Founder Chris Perkins said he hoped to exceed the $150,000 raised this year.

The West Coast Eagles physiotherapist, whose son Jake was stillborn and wife Cindy died in 2009, said the event was a way for families to remember loved ones in a positive way.

Renae Wauhop and radio personalities Carmen Braidwood and Brad Fitzgerald will join Eagles players Mark LeCras and Matt Priddis as ambassadors next year.

Money raised will help Red Nose continue research and education into miscarriage, stillbirth and SIDS/SUDC and help fund counselling for families.

Entries are open for the next Sunshine Beach Run in February.
