Gov­er­nor bails sci­en­tist out of jail

FORMER WA Chief Sci­en­tist Lyn Bea­z­ley was bailed out of jail for $500 at the eighth an­nual Con­victs for a Cause that raised more than $100,000 re­cently.

Pro­fes­sor Bea­z­ley, who is pa­tron of the Ro­tary Club of Perth’s Re­flec­tions Through Re­al­ity Foun­da­tion, which is one of the bene­fac­tors, said she had a lit­tle vice-re­gal help from Gov­er­nor Kerry Sanderson be­fore the event.

“I was thrilled to be part of such a wor­thy event,” Prof Bea­z­ley, whose grand­chil­dren sold hand-made bracelets to contribute to her fundrais­ing tally, said.
