Stick­ing to an ac­ces­sory plan

HELEN Golisano was at­tracted to The Lip Lab con­cept be­cause it al­lowed peo­ple to per­son­alise a pop­u­lar ac­ces­sory: lip­stick.

Ms Golisano saw Aus­tralia’s first Lip Lab in Syd­ney ear­lier this year and bought the li­cence for WA.

She re­cently launched the spe­cial­ist centre at Skin Deep on Hay Street, a busi­ness she started 25 years ago.

Clients spend about half an hour with one of four con­sul­tants and cre­ate a per­son­alised lip­stick, play­ing around with shade and tex­ture.

The for­mula is then put in a mi­crowave to soften it be­fore be­ing spun through a ma­chine that elim­i­nates air bub­bles.

The lip­stick is left to set in a mould and pack­aged.

Ms Golisano said the ma­te­ri­als were “fully food grade”, all nat­u­ral and there was a ve­gan range.

“I like that it’s a lit­tle bit of fun and we can per­son­alise it with scents like cham­pagne, nutella, mint and mi­mosa,” she said.
