Taste of Stone afloat
EMERALD Princess arrived in Fremantle last week for the cruise ship’s maiden fivemonth season in Australian waters and brought with it an extra special dining experience for fans of Melbourne-born celebrity chef Curtis Stone.
Instead of having to travel to LA for a taste of Stone’s culinary delights at Maude and Gwen, Aussies now have the opportunity to partake a little closer to home in the luxury liner’s 125seat restaurant SHARE by Curtis Stone.
It joins other SHARE restaurants on Sun Princess and Ruby Princess.
Emerald Princess has launched a new menu for the Australian summer featuring a sixcourse fine dining degustation with a reasonably priced cover charge for cruisers.
The mouth-watering menu options include charcuterie with prosciutto, pickled onions and Castelvetrano olives, and Stone’s Little Gem, a crisp baby romaine leaf salad tossed in caraway buttermilk dressing with grapefruit and nasturtium flowers. The pork ravioli is a taste sensation with green curry filling coated in a lemongrass cream and topped with crunchy chicharrones.
And what would a degustation be without dessert: the toffee cheesecake a sweet treat paired with red wine reduction, homemade raisins and macerated grapes.
As much thought by Stone has gone into the restaurant’s interior design as its menu and the resulting ambience is one of sophisticated comfort.
“I have a very specific vision of how I want my restaurants to look and feel as well as taste,” Stone said.
“With SHARE, I’ve shared personal family photographs for the walls and even selected the books on the shelves. It’s the personal touches that are really important to me.”
SHARE is joined by many attractive dining options on the cruise ship including awardwinning chef Ernesto Uchimura’s Salty Dog Gastropub.
