Modern family living at its best

A LOT of thought went into the design of this striking two-storey home on an 843sqm block.
“We had a year-long discussion with an architect to nut out our concept,” the owners said.
“Our vision was to meet the needs of a growing family and for entertainment and keeping the house neat all the time.
“We wanted large, wide-open spaces with a modern, minimalist architectural vibe.
“We also wanted to bring the garden vista into the main living area.”
The result is a stunning home that thoroughly suits family living.
On the ground floor, the living, dining and kitchen area is spacious and inviting with clean lines, gleaming jarrah flooring and soaring windows.
It has lovely views of the garden and pool and opens to the alfresco area with a built-in kitchen.
Entertaining has been easy and convenient for the owners, who have hosted numerous family gatherings and children's parties over the years.
The family also enjoys spending time in the home theatre/lounge on the first floor.
This room opens to a large balcony with views of the river.
There are four generously sized bedrooms, all with built-in robes, including the master bedroom with resort-style ensuite.
While the home is very practical, with plenty of concealed storage space, automatic blinds and a secure electronic gate with intercom, there are many luxury touches.
Timber is a key feature, with a sheoak front door, stone and sheoak kitchen bench and sheoak-lined ceilings in the alfresco area and balcony, plus a floating jarrah staircase and jarrah flooring in the living areas.
Travertine tiling is a feature in the bathrooms and foyer.
The location is delightful, with beautiful walks down towards the Peppermint Grove foreshore and in walking distance of Cottesloe Beach.
