Angove’s Family Crest GSM 2015

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Wine -

THE only reason for recommending any wine would be that it is perceived as being amongst the two or three best values in its style, variety and price range. Houghton, De Bortoli and Angove continuously come up on this basis. In a masked line-up of 17 wines, this Angove Family Crest GSM was both the cheapest and the highest pointed wine. It typifies its McLaren Vale base in that it is full, round and of serious length, but it is cleaner, fresher and slightly more restrained than we normally see from that region. Fine, long and classy, it is clean, sound, well made, fresh and lively. The wine is beautifully balanced with real length, lovely finish and aftertaste, reasonable quality fruit and modern winemaking. 18.3 points and $22
