Sincere thanks

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Opinion -

ON behalf of Cancer Council Western Australia, I would like to extend a huge thanks to all of those involved in last month’s Relay For Life held at UWA.

The 750 participants from 66 teams who braved bad weather at the opening to eventually raise $85,000, and all of the support teams, were absolutely amazing!

Congratulations to the ‘Knitters for a cure’, who were the highest fundraisers, and to (cancer survivor) Matthew Eaton who gave an amazing speech at the candlelight ceremony.

Your efforts have made an enormous difference to the many people around WA touched by cancer who are helped by the programs, education and services we provide as well as helping us to fund vital cancer research so that we can move closer to a cancer-free future.

It was great to see so many young people involved in this community event and we look forward to your ongoing support of Relay For Life. Susan Rooney, chief executive, Cancer Council WA.
