PLENTY OF HOLIDAY PRECAUTIONS

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Streetwatch -

You can take precautions against crime if you are going on holidays soon. Let your neighbours know, and provide them with dates and emergency contact details. They can put out your rubbish. Are you registered with the Vacant Premises Advice page? Make sure doors and windows lock securely, and have you arranged for mail to be held, redirected by your post office, or asked a neighbour to collect your mail for you? Have your deliveries cancelled. House keys should be left with a trusted friend or neighbour. Someone should be organised to cut your lawn and water your garden, and your garden tools and ladders should be locked away. The ring volume on your telephone should be down, and consider asking neighbours to park in your driveway. - Senior Sergeant Haydn Farrow
