“It is of course con­cern­ing about the num­ber of busi­nesses that have closed in Su­bi­aco over the re­cent months, but we need to re­mem­ber that there have been new busi­nesses that have also opened,” she said.

“Any­thing said or pub­lished about Su­bi­aco al­ways seems to fo­cus on the neg­a­tive rather than the pos­i­tive.

“It’s hard out there if you are a small busi­ness owner, no mat­ter where you are lo­cated. In our first few days of of­fi­cial trad­ing we’ve been thrilled with the num­ber of peo­ple through the door.”

Ms Jones said she hoped the restau­rant would be the start of some­thing new for Su­bi­aco.
