YOUNG LIBERALS DONATE TO TROOPS
CONTINUING the tradition of ensuring our troops are remembered this Christmas, the Brand Young Liberals are creating care packages for the troops.
West Perth-based Brand Young Liberals spent many hours collecting donations from across the State and putting together care packages.
They contain numerous items for the Defence Force personnel this Christmas including biscuits, toiletries, books and magazines.
Brand Young Liberal chairman, Ben Reale-Cornel said their tradition was three years young.
“Christmas is an important time to be with family and friends. We can only imagine that serving overseas at this time may be difficult for our troops and hard on their families back home,” he said.
“The care packages are a small token of appreciation for the troops and a reminder that we are thinking of them during this time while they are away from their families at Christmas.”
Mr Reale-Cornel added it was also a bit of a thankyou for our service personnel.
“We thank those who are out there continuing to keep our country safe,” he said.
Last year the group donated 200 packages and are hoping to garner more support from the community this year.
