Urgent call for blood donors
MORE than 470 people are still needed to donate blood in Perth over Christmas as donor numbers have dropped to a worrying low.
Only five people have booked in on Boxing Day, with 470 empty appointments between December 19 and January 2 in Perth.
Australian Blood Donor Centre spokeswoman Jessica Willet said many more people were needed to roll up their sleeves.
“Thousands of Australian patients will need blood this Christmas and New Year just to have the hope of spending those moments with friends and family," she said.
