A 22-year-old Beech­boro man al­legedly as­saulted a po­lice of­fi­cer at the Ori­gin dance mu­sic con­cert at Clare­mont Show­ground on New Year’s Eve. Se­nior Sergeant Julie Fo­ley said the man would ap­pear in Perth Mag­is­trates Court on Jan­uary 20. Po­lice will al­lege an­other man tried to en­ter the con­cert by jump­ing a fence, be­fore he was charged with tres­pass, and three con­cert-go­ers failed to fol­low move-on or­ders. Dis­or­derly con­duct no­tices were is­sued to four con­cert-go­ers, one cannabis in­ter­ven­tion no­tice was handed out and one con­cert-goer was charged with dis­or­derly con­duct.

FE­MALE thieves at­tempted to take the mo­bile phone of a 12-year-old Mt Clare­mont girl at the Clare­mont Quar­ter shop­ping cen­tre about 4.50pm on Jan­uary 1. “They ran off, af­ter ask­ing to ‘bor­row’ it, but the girl snatched it back,” Sgt Fo­ley said. One thief was de­scribed as aged 18-20, short, with an English ac­cent, black hair and a fair com­plex­ion, while her fe­male ac­com­plice had black hair with blonde roots tied in a bun. Po­lice will re­view CCTV from the shop­ping cen­tre.

A THIEF has taken a man’s elec­tric bi­cy­cle worth $2300. The bike’s owner re­ported it had been taken from out­side his Stir­ling High­way home be­tween 9am and 11.40am on Jan­uary 4. Sgt Fo­ley said it ap­peared the bike’s se­cu­rity chain had been cut.
