BURGLARS took two safes in separate incidents at a shop at Mosman Park shopping centre, Monument Street, and the Men’s Shed in McCabe Street.
Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said the shop’s safe contained takings when it was stolen after thieves entered through a front door overnight on January 10.
The Men’s Shed’s safe, with cash described by police as “not significant”, was taken after entry was gained by unknown means overnight on January 8.
IPHONES and an iPad were taken during the burglary of an Edith Street home overnight on January 10.
Sgt Foley said tracking applications in the devices enabled them to be found nearby in Wellington Street later.
The devices’ owners were at home during the thefts by the burglars, who used a door to enter the house. same area and same time of midmorning to mid-afternoon,” Sgt Foley said.
A digital camera, cash and jewellery were among the items taken from one of the burglaries on Dalkeith Road and one on Smythe Road.
Nothing was taken from the two other Dalkeith Road burglaries.
