Students win a thriller
UNIVERSITY Cricket Club sealed its second consecutive victory in thrilling fashion on Saturday, with a last-wicket run-out securing a three-run victory as round 11 of the Premier Cricket concluded.
The Students scored an upset win over Gosnells at Sutherlands Park, with young spinner Sean Stuart starring with a five-wicket haul.
Stuart took 5-35 as Gosnells fell just three runs short of the Students’ total of 245.
Will Bosisto was vital with the bat, scoring a half-century, while Harry Podmore chipped in with a late cameo for the Students.
Tim David continued his fantastic season with another century to guide Claremont-Nedlands to their 10th straight victory against Joondalup at Iluka Sports Complex.
David hammered 126 from 118 balls, including eight fours and three sixes, in a devastating display.
Jim Allenby combined with the young gun to make 35, as the Tigers posted a commanding 266.
A maiden century from Cameron Green was the difference at Floreat Park, with Subiaco Floreat moving inside the top six with a win over Mt Lawley.
Subiaco Floreat were in trouble at 4-32 before Green took over, hammering 11 boundaries in his 141-ball stay.
