Stunning coast inspires design
Enjoy 360-degree views from the roof terrace.
OWNERS Chris and Pam Lewis said this multi-storey home was exceptional.
“We have both lived in numerous countries, and in many styles of housing, and this is by far the best house, location and neighbourhood we have experienced,” they said.
Before buying the home in 2010, Mr and Mrs Lewis watched its construction with interest.
“The house was designed by Ralph Drexel and built over a twoyear period by Tony Borello,” they said.
“The house is a standout design and we’re told it was inspired by the beach and tranquil location.”
The house has a beautiful coastal feel, with soaring white timber ceilings, timber flooring, marble tiling and limestone feature walls.
The ground floor includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, powder room, home office and living area that opens to a courtyard.
A lift and timber staircase lead to the first floor and the master suite with ensuite and dressing room, study or fourth bedroom and main living area.
The living area has soaring ceilings and a limestone feature wall with fireplace.
Bi-fold doors open to a balcony and alfresco area.
The top level of the home includes a rumpus room or extra sleeping area and a roof terrace with 360 degree views.
The views are a highlight for anyone who visits the home.
“As owners, we like the relaxing outlook from our first-floor living and dining rooms,” Mr and Mrs Lewis said.
“You never tire of trees to the north and east, plus ocean glimpses to the west.
“Our guests inevitably like the ocean and island views from the floor above, but to us this is just another dimension to a great house.” ■
