CAMERON Green took centre stage for the second time in a week, as the allrounder helped Subiaco-floreat towards a finals berth during round 14 of Premier Cricket.

Seventh-placed Subiaco-floreat, which is one point outside the top six with two rounds to play, took the upper hand against fifth-placed Melville in the crunch clash at Floreat Park Oval on Saturday.

The Storm managed an early strike to open the innings, before calming half-centuries to Alex Malcolm and Aaron Lilly steadied the ship for the home team.

At 4-131, the game looked in the balance before Green took control, smashing three fours and three sixes in a mature innings of 83.

The youngster was joined by WA teammate Jason Behrendorff (54) as they pushed the total beyond 300.

At Abbett Park on Saturday, Nick Hobson’s century saved Claremont-nedlands on day one against Scarborough.

The left-hander smashed 14 boundaries in his knock of 112, as the Tigers posted 250 all out.

Jim Allenby made a patient 46, however the Gulls bowlers ran rampant throughout the day to restrict the visitors, with the Tigers looking at the prospect of their first loss of the season.

University fought hard, but again struggled against a strong Perth side at Fletcher Park, with the Students middle order only able to get starts.

Will Bosisto started brightly for the visitors with a patient 45 before in-form bowler Jacob Van Galen snared his prize wicket.

The Students were bowled out for just 172.

Perth is 1-44 in response with Alex Rose getting the only wicket.
