SPRINT A DEAD HEAT
THE heat was on at City Beach on Sunday in the final of the Sunshine Beach Run Celebrity Beach Sprint. After an exhausting seven rounds with just minutes between each run, athlete Brenton Mizen and North Beach Football Club’s Nick Reid lined up for the final sprint.
The race was neck and neck and after much deliberation, it was declared a dead heat and both men were presented the Chris Perkins Memorial Trophy. City of Perth surf lifesaver Gabby Murphy put in a gutsy effort as the only female competitor, coming fourth behind Scarborough Football Club’s Josh Houlden.
West Coast Eagles players also took part in the charity event.
