Insurance sting

Western Suburbs Weekly - - WesternOpinion -

DRIVERS may experience a shock when they see their next vehicle licence insurance account.

The State Government marketed only a $99 increase in the vehicle licence insurance fee to establish the catastrophic no fault accident insurance cover.

However, the reality is the licence fee has increased by $99 and the insurance fee has increased by 26 per cent from the 2016 fee.

Over 90 per cent of vehicle drivers are still subject to an at fault insurance cover, because only an average of 44 vehicle accidents result in catastrophic injuries each year (ie covered by the not at fault insurance).

No wonder politicians continue to lose trust and credibility.
