Vir­tual re­al­ity for li­brary vis­i­tors

VIS­I­TORS to Su­bi­aco Li­brary will see things dif­fer­ently through a hands-on ed­u­ca­tional pro­gram on im­mer­sive tech­nol­ogy.

Un­til April 12, vis­i­tors will have the op­por­tu­nity to ex­pe­ri­ence vir­tual re­al­ity (VR) for free through a mo­bile VR head­set and smart­phone app.

This wear­able tech­nol­ogy pro­vides an im­mer­sive ex­pe­ri­ence by cre­at­ing a 3D vir­tual en­vi­ron­ment with mo­tion de­tec­tion.

Guest speaker Adam Geoghe­gan, founder of Perth vir­tual re­al­ity tech startup Im­mer­sia, kicked off the ed­u­ca­tions event this month ed­u­cat­ing the com­mu­nity about vir­tual and aug­mented re­al­ity, with a fo­cus on how and where the tech­nolo­gies are
