Hart on Spears at Oz Comic Con

SABRINA The Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart dished to fans on the weekend about her working relationship with an “overworked” Britney Spears in the 1990s.

The television star was in Perth for Oz Comic Con and offered the story after a fan asked if she was still friends with the pop princess.

“We were friends at the time; she was about 17 and I was about 22 when she came to visit the set,” Hart said.

“It was around the time we did Drive Me Crazy, which was actually called Next To You... I could tell she was overworked. She had this huge entourage, bodyguards, assistants, trainers, singing coaches, agents and managers.

“And I’d be like ‘you wanna go to lunch?’ and she’d be like ‘oh can I go to lunch?’ and she’d turn to her assistant and they’d be like ‘nope, we’ve gotta go to do a commercial then you’ve got dance training then you’re on a plane tonight’. We lost touch and didn’t see each other basically since we both had kids, but I ran into her last year in Vegas and I got to see her backstage for five minutes and say hi.”
