Easter is special

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Western Opinion -

THE most meaningful time in our calendar is upon us. Not our own birthday, not Christmas, but Easter.

As a nation whose constitution was founded and built around the Holy Bible and its principles, we mark this day with a national public holiday. That is appropriate.

While some celebrate Good Friday, all the way through to Easter Monday, Easter is specifically Resurrection Sunday.

This is the most significant single event in world history.

It was the culmination of the only time God became a man, walked the earth without sin, was crucified on a cross as payment for the sins of all mankind, and after three days, on Easter, He rose from the dead to conquer death.

His gift of salvation is received when a person turns away from their sinful life and puts their faith in Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of their life.

Easter is a time of joyful remembrance, and sober reflection.

I pray that you find yourself a Biblebelieving church and make 2017 the most meaningful Easter you've ever had.

PASTOR CHRIS PLUMMER, Potters House Christian Centre.
