O’rourke new Uni chief

THE suc­cess­ful Univer­sity Foot­ball Club has elected a new pres­i­dent for the up­com­ing sea­son.

Tom O’rourke was unan­i­mously voted into the top spot at a re­cent AGM af­ter Si­mon Cal­dow stood down at the end of 2016.

O’rourke has been at the club since 2005, with 200 games and five pre­mier­ships un­der his belt.

He has also been on the com­mit­tee for 10 years and took out the Best Club Man award for 2016.

“I am ex­cited for what 2017 holds,” O’rourke said.

“With strong coach­ing pan­els in all grades, we hope to build on the suc­cess from re­cent sea­sons to con­tinue the strong his­tory of the UFC.”

Lewis Fitch and Dwayne Lake are tak­ing on the role as joint vice-pres­i­dents.
