Join forces for courses

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Food - with Belinda Cipriano

DINERS can expect a six-course meal featuring the best of West Australian produce at this year’s Perth’s Longest Lunch on May 19.

The event, held at the Crown Towers Ballroom and hosted by the Brightwater Care Group, raises money for older people in residential care, individuals living with Huntington’s Disease and younger people with disabilities and their families.

This year’s lunch will feature a gastronomic experience that showcases the finest produce from the Southern Forest region, in the hands of one of WA’S finest and most imaginative chefs, Sean Marco.

Teamed with West Australian wine, patrons will feast on marron, lamb, venison, cheese and a chocolate sphere for dessert.

A spokeswoman said patrons could expect a networking opportunity with a difference.

“We promise an unrivalled ambience; a jaw-dropping gastronomic

experience and an outstanding line-up of unique entertainment that will continue to delight and surprise,” she said.

“We’re pretty excited about this year’s six-course degustation menu, which is being paired with local wines selected by the Royal Show's John Hanley.

“It’s an experience that has been designed to delight and surprise and is as far removed from typical ‘event’ catering as you can imagine.

“This means that a wonderful afternoon of good food, wine and networking will continue to enhance hundreds of lives over the coming year – and we’re delighted to have been able to play a role in it.”

Organisers hope to break last year’s record of 840 guests.

Have a long lunch and support some great causes.
