Women on board

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Fashion -

THREE western suburbs residents are among 20 hand-picked young professionals taking part in the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program until the end of May.

Subiaco resident Erica Lampropoulos, Sarah Carter, of Wembley, and Shenton Park’s Belinda Grandoni are developing skills, passion and knowledge preparing them to contribute as members of a community board.

The trio have varying professions: Ms Lampropoulos is a lawyer now working as an innovation consultant, Ms Carter works in oil and gas and Ms Grandoni has 10 years of experience in community and government sectors.

“I believe greater diversity on boards and leadership benefits everyone,” Ms Grandoni said.

“A board member position serves the community, which provides opportunities to promote cultural change within an organisation and advocate for the equal consideration of issues, perspective and needs of clients and stakeholders.”

Ms Lampropoulos said she was driven by a desire to leave the community a better place than she found it.
