PERTH creatives will team up to show off their wares as part of a new event aimed at promoting local talent this weekend.

“The Local Edit” event is a collaboration between fashion designer Jenna Pruyn of label Jenna Rose, with active wear label Maasai Activewear, coffee connoisseurs Roasting Depot, artists Linzi Carter and The Velveteen Rabbit, watch designer John Taylor Watches and lifestyle businesses Stone Lux and Co and Hungry for Puns.

Pruyn, whose label Jenna Rose has graced the Brownlow blue carpet, said the event came from the idea of wanting to work with other local businesses.

“I was in the process of planning an event launch for my winter collection and came up with the idea to share a space with other local businesses,” she said.

“I love being creative and working with other creatives so I thought I would capitalise on the opportunity to work with local businesses where we can network and share each other’s contacts.

“I wanted to bring something new to Perth and provide the ultimate pop-up shop experience.”

Pruyn said the two-day event, coinciding with Mother’s Day, would be the ultimate mum’s day out.

“It’s held on Mother’s Day weekend so pop in with your mum and get her something special,” she said.

Pruyn is hoping the pop-up weekend will be the first of many around Perth.
