THE act of giving back to the community by Michael Gallagher and Jason Smith was recognised at the 2017 Cottesloe Volunteer Recognition Awards last Wednesday.

“These men have given their time and energy to the benefit of the community, not just this past year, but for many years,” Cottesloe Mayor Jo Dawkins said.

Mr Gallagher’s 16 years at Cottesloe Rugby Union Football Club have included coaching, while Mr Smith co-ordinated Cottesloe Carols by Candlelight at St Philips Church, Cottesloe.

Mrs Dawkins said Cottesloe recognised all organisations, volunteer groups and individuals who had contributed to the Town.

"Your time and dedication to the community is what makes it such a vibrant and interactive place to be, and one in which we are proud to be a part of,” Mrs Dawkins said.
