CLARE­MONT

A COCK­BURN Cen­tral man (22) is al­leged to have stolen a Mercedes­benz from an Al­fred Road home about 3.30pm on May 16. “They just kicked the front door open,” Sergeant Paul Vo­jkovich said.

Clothes, jew­ellery and a neck­lace were also al­legedly taken from the house be­fore the man was ar­rested with the ve­hi­cle in St James later.

He was charged with bur­glary and steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle and was bailed to ap­pear at Perth Mag­is­trates Court on June 8. Po­lice are seek­ing two other man sus­pected to have been in­volved in the bur­glary.

A WOMAN (62) fell and suf­fered mi­nor in­juries af­ter her hand­bag was snatched from her shoul­der at Wan­dana Flats about 8pm on May 17.

“She was un­load­ing her shop­ping from her car to her trol­ley,” Sergeant Paul Vo­jkovich said. The woman saw a man and a tall woman ap­proach her be­fore they grabbed her bag that held cash and a gold iphone 5s.

The man was de­scribed as 30-35, dark skinned, pos­si­bly of African de­scent, about 1.8m, wear­ing dark trousers and a dark, long-sleeved shirt.

SWAN­BOURNE

AN East Vic­to­ria Park woman is al­leged to have re­peat­edly used a credit card that she stole from a Sal­adin Street home on May 12 at the Swan­bourne Vil­lage shop­ping cen­tre.

Sergeant Paul Vo­jkovich said it would be al­leged the card was in one of two hand­bags taken from the house, af­ter the woman en­tered via an un­locked rear door. The al­leged frauds for small amounts were com­mit­ted at the vil­lage’s post of­fice and su­per­mar­ket.

The woman was ar­rested when her car was stopped in Mor­ley about 2.50am on May 13. She was charged with bur­glary, steal­ing and three counts of fraud. She was bailed to ap­pear at Perth Mag­is­trates Court on June 16.

PO­LICE con­sider a bur­glary on Wright Street and an­other on Devon Road on May 16 could be con­nected. A lap­top and mo­bile tele­phone were taken from the Wright Street home af­ter thieves en­tered the prop­erty through a back door. An un­locked back slid­ing door al­lowed thieves to take a watch and keys to a white 2001model Toy­ota Prado that had not been re­cov­ered late last week.
