A COCKBURN Central man (22) is alleged to have stolen a Mercedesbenz from an Alfred Road home about 3.30pm on May 16. “They just kicked the front door open,” Sergeant Paul Vojkovich said.
Clothes, jewellery and a necklace were also allegedly taken from the house before the man was arrested with the vehicle in St James later.
He was charged with burglary and stealing a motor vehicle and was bailed to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on June 8. Police are seeking two other man suspected to have been involved in the burglary.
A WOMAN (62) fell and suffered minor injuries after her handbag was snatched from her shoulder at Wandana Flats about 8pm on May 17.
“She was unloading her shopping from her car to her trolley,” Sergeant Paul Vojkovich said. The woman saw a man and a tall woman approach her before they grabbed her bag that held cash and a gold iphone 5s.
The man was described as 30-35, dark skinned, possibly of African descent, about 1.8m, wearing dark trousers and a dark, long-sleeved shirt.
AN East Victoria Park woman is alleged to have repeatedly used a credit card that she stole from a Saladin Street home on May 12 at the Swanbourne Village shopping centre.
Sergeant Paul Vojkovich said it would be alleged the card was in one of two handbags taken from the house, after the woman entered via an unlocked rear door. The alleged frauds for small amounts were committed at the village’s post office and supermarket.
The woman was arrested when her car was stopped in Morley about 2.50am on May 13. She was charged with burglary, stealing and three counts of fraud. She was bailed to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on June 16.
POLICE consider a burglary on Wright Street and another on Devon Road on May 16 could be connected. A laptop and mobile telephone were taken from the Wright Street home after thieves entered the property through a back door. An unlocked back sliding door allowed thieves to take a watch and keys to a white 2001model Toyota Prado that had not been recovered late last week.
