Mini bar a big hit Aloft rises to top

COMO The Trea­sury won the award for Best Mini Bar in Aus­tralia at the 2017 Gourmet Trav­eller Ho­tel Awards in Mel­bourne last week.

Rooms fea­ture a com­pli­men­tary be­spoke mini bar that in­cludes re­fresh­ments re­plen­ished daily, in­clud­ing Illy cof­fee and JING tea, still and spark­ing water, soft drinks, juices, West Aus­tralian craft beers, a se­lec­tion of spe­cially se­lected gourmet snacks and a sea­sonal fruit bowl.

Also avail­able in each room, at a cost, are whisky from Lime­burn­ers and vodka and gin from Hip­pocam­pus Dis­tillery.

Stays in one of COMO The Trea­sury’s suites fea­ture a slightly more deluxe mini­bar, in­clud­ing a com­pli­men­tary bot­tle of Tait­tinger cham­pagne.

COMO The Trea­sury gen­eral man­ager An­neke Brown was happy to win the award.

THE who’s who of Perth turned out to party in style for the open­ing of Aloft Ho­tel in Perth on Fri­day night.

The ho­tel, part of Mar­riott In­ter­na­tional group, is the first to open in Aus­tralia and is in the so­cial hub of the Springs River­vale com­mu­nity, along­side the Swan River.

Aloft Perth gen­eral man­ager Stephen Mo­ra­han said Perth was a dy­namic grow­ing city and a gate­way to and from Asia, the Mid­dle East and Europe.
