Great opportunity for Moran to return
FOODIES will get a taste of the best Perth has to offer at this year’s Good Food and Wine Show (GFWS) from July 14 to 16.
The event featuring hundreds of first-time local exhibitors will see patrons immersing themselves in all things food and wine, and engaging with Australia’s favourite celebrity chefs while they share their tips and tricks live on stage.
A range of local exhibitors will be representing WA at the show, including Noshing Naturally, who will be showcasing their vegan cheese selection and Charli G, who will be bringing a range of local WA cheeses to the show for the first time.
For those with a sweet tooth, Great Southern Truffles and cupcakes from Baked 180 will be the place to be and Mount Barker Chicken and Harvey Beef will represent the South-west.
Matt Moran is one several celebrity chefs in this year’s line-up.
Joining cheeky French chef Manu Feildel, Gary Mehigan, Jack Stein and Adam Liaw, he could not wait to get back to Perth and meet the crowd, growers and producers, as well as take part in cooking demonstrations.
“It’s always a lot of fun and I can’t wait to hang out with my chef mates too,” he said.
“We’re all good buddies, it’s a lot of fun.
“I’ll be demonstrating a few of my favourite dishes in the Chef’s Theatre and showcasing some amazing produce.
“Some of the dishes are from my restaurants, others I like to cook at home and some I like to make over a lazy weekend at the farm.
“I’ll also be signing copies of my cookbooks, meeting and chatting with people and cooking at a VIP lunch as well.”
Moran added coming to Perth meant he could enjoy some of the best produce in the country.
“Every year this event gets bigger and bigger.
“The produce that comes out of WA is some of the best in the country.”
Kirrily Waldhorn and Nick Haddow give a demonstration.
Matt Moran is looking forward to working with WA produce.
